Opened in 1985, Orange Lake Country Club has a true country club feel. Golf carts hum down the narrow roads next to green, manicured fairways that run flush with surrounding villas. The lakefront recreation area is the hub for activity. Featured here is an Olympic-sized pool, two hot tubs, a kiddie pool, mid-sized rectangular pool, large freeform pool, miniature golf course, pool-side bar and a lakefront bar and grill. And don''t worry, there''s plenty of deck space, too. At the lake you can rent boats and water sport equipment or play volleyball on the small white beach.
About the rooms
Older two-story units surround the golf course, and the new five-story Tennis Villas surround seven tennis courts. These newer buildings have Spanish-style architecture with beige stucco exteriors and red terra-cotta roofs.
Overall, the décor inside the Tennis Villas is upscale with shades of blue and peach. Foyer, kitchen, and bathrooms have ceramic tile floors.
A long breakfast bar divides the open kitchen and the living area. These bright kitchens have everything you could possible need: large refrigerator with ice maker, stove/oven, microwave, double sink, coffeemaker, roomy pantry, blender, toaster, pots, pans and eating utensils.
Accomodations:
The living area has a dining table beside the window and a blue sectional sofa that pulls out into a double bed. Also included is a large television and VCR. Just outside is a screened-in patio.
Bedrooms have ceiling fans and are decorated with soft peach walls, blue carpet, pickled-wood furniture and colorful bedspreads. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and an armoire that contains a television. This bedroom has a private bathroom with a standup shower, Jacuzzi bathtub and a large vanity.
Second bedrooms have two double beds and a television that sets on a dresser. The second bathroom has a small sink and standup shower.
Third bedrooms are similar to a suite, containing a double bed, small pullout sofa, television and small dining table. The adjacent bathroom has a standup shower.
Villas in the older two-story units have a different layout and are decorated in shades of light yellow, green and mauve.
Other highlights
The resort features a 27-hole championship golf course, golf school, driving range, putting green, pro shop, seven TruFlex tennis courts, a tennis clinic and semi-private and private lessons. Inside the clubhouse is an indoor children''s play area, video game room, billiard tables, beauty salon, general store, movie theater and a place to rent videos. |
