Garfagnana – Media Valle del Serchio is an area of northwestern Tuscany, located in the Province of Lucca. In this marvellous setting we have recently restored and refurbished a group of farmhouses, which have been property of our family since more than 150 years.

Description:
As it was 150 years ago, Casa Ciesa consists of three apartments. Casa Ciesa is the al numero 3 is the largest one. It is located at civic number 3, has three levels plus a basement, is about 140sm. in total and can accomodate from 2 up to 6 people. On the ground floor, a living room with fireplace and a bright kitchen with balcony and view over the wonderful surrounding nature. On the first floor two double bedrooms. A garret on the last floor, which provides a bath with shower and a double bedroom. (All beds are 160cms wide). In the basement there is a bath with shower and a pretty cellar with sat-tv and couch. The outside provides a big garden completely fenced (1000sm.), an exclusive backyard, equipped with garden furniture and a wood-burning oven below a loggia.
Casa Ciesa al numero 3 is located in a nice quite secluded place at the edges of an old hamlet of nearly100 hinabitants. A narrow road drivable with small cars crosses it. All cars are preferably to be parked on the public square of the hamlet, at a 150 meters asphalted distance from our house, to be covered on foot.
Our hamlet offers neither groceries nor bars, but some can be found in the hamlets nearby (about 2kms) or in Bagni di Lucca (5 kms). On request, on the day of your arrival we can arrange for you a welcome dinner. Natural honey production in the vicinity. |

Bagni di Lucca, about 5 kms away, is a nice tourist resort, where you will find general stores, shops, and sport centers (public swimming pool, tennis courts, etc.) and a beautiful spa known during the 18th and 19th centuries as a beloved holiday or residence destination of personalities and artists like Byron, Shelley, Puccini, Metternich and Radestsky. Traces of this glorious past areto be found in its monuments: the English Church, the Catene bridge, the Spa, the villas, the Casino, etc. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the surrounding hills, which are full of churches and Roman parishes: S. Pietro in Corsena, Pieve and San Cassiano di Controne, Montefegatesi, Casabasciana and Vicopancellorum. Nearby, Borgo a Mozzano and the Maddalena bridge, better known as the Devil’s bridge, Barga with its typical historical centre, Coreglia Antelminelli and its Museum of Plaster Figures and Emigration. Lucca (about 27 kms.), Pisa (about 55kms.) and the close Tyrrhenian coast, (or Versilia about 40kms.) offer further cultural artistic and eno-gastronomical diversions.

Casa Ciesa al numero 3 is available for check-in only by appointment after 4 PM. As we do not have a 24-hour desk, we ask that, whenever possible, all check-ins occur before 8 PM. Check out time is 12:00 noon. Pets not allowed.
