Nestled in bustling Lincoln Park on a quiet block of magnificent grand 19th century homes, this 1886 mansion was built by famed architect Harold Hansen for his own family. The Hansen House Mansion has retained most of its original gracious Victorian details, and has been lovingly decorated with many fine Victorian antiques.
It is convenient to many city attractions—just steps away from both Lincoln Park and Second City—as well as major expressways and public transportation for easy access to both airports or downtown.
Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a gala family event, a quiet business stay or a special meeting, The Hansen House Mansion offers the perfect setting. For your convenience, we are open year-round.

Guests have a choice of the second floor's two luxurious Deluxe Guestrooms or our top floor's Parlour Suite with two standard rooms and a sundeck.
The Second Floor's Deluxe Rooms
The Architect's Quarters-This majestic room contains a multitude of the home's original Victorian details -- a decorative carved walnut fireplace, pocket shutters on the windows, a carved marble en-suite sink, a separate dressing room with built-in dressers and a stained glass window which sends bursts of color dancing over the room. The queen-sized bed, large walk-in closet, mahogany full-length mirror and a television and VCR hidden in a magnificent 19th century armoire add to the comforts within these spacious quarters. The attached private bathroom is tucked away behind a mahogany pocket door, and features the original oversized clawfoot tub on an inlaid marble floor
The Celestial Chamber
Watched over by the elaborate headboard's carved and painted angels, this second level guest room boasts a queen-sized bed, roomy walk-in closet with its original built-in dresser, an ornate full-length mirror, television, and the luxury of a carved marble in-room sink. The room is painted in three shades of soft sage to highlight the frothy ceiling medallion and original chandelier, with a rose-colored picture rail to compliment the pink marble sink with its original medicine cabinet. Its spacious private bathroom features a five-foot steam shower big enough for two, stained glass shower doors and a faux-marble floor.
The Parlour Level's Rooms
These two bedrooms are directly off the sundeck and parlour with widescreen TV and DVD, bathroom with shower, mini-kitchen consisting of a coffeemaker, refrigerator and microwave.
Lit Bateau Room
The Lit Bateau Room has an ornate cherry single boat bed, a decorative carved marble fireplace, an antique desk/dresser combination, a full-length cherry and gilt mirror, and a roomy California closet. A second single bed is available to accomodate two individual guests.
Art Nouveau Room
The Art Nouveau Room offers a very special French bedroom set built in 1892 by Louis Majorelle. His queen-sized bed features both an intricately-carved head and foot board, and the armoire is so finely detailed it even has carvings below its full-length mirror. |

We hope we've thought of everything you need to feel at home. The house has central air conditioning, WiFi, complimentary toiletries, hair dryers and bathrobes, ironing board and iron, complimentary washer and dryer, stereo with CDs and cassettes, board games, playing cards, books, televisions, DVDs and VCRs. Your host will be happy to lend CDs or videos from our extensive collection for your listening or viewing pleasure.

For your jetlag a 24-hour chemist/pharmacy, 24-hour restaurant, Chicago's only 24-hour Starbucks and a 24-hour health club with indoor pool are also within one block!
