General FAQs For Home Owner :

Q. Why Choose VillaGlobal?
A. Traffic and Bookings: (We receive more traffic and bookings in more regions than any other Vacation Rentals website) Vacation Rentals.com has experienced tremendous growth over the past 5 years whereas many sites are seeing a substantial drop in traffic, Vacation Rentals.com is sound, established and is quickly becoming a household name.

100% Risk Free: (100% Money Back Guarantee) VillaGlobal is proud to offer our "100% Risk Free Money Back Guarantee", If you are unsatisfied for any reason, a complete refund for the full amount will be issued up to 30 days after any payment is made.

Spam Protection: (99.9% of all spam is filtered out automatically) VillaGlobal takes spam seriously. Our proprietary technology blocks out 99.9% of all spam. Most websites don't bother with spam control because they like spam, spam creates more (fake) inquires, but also helps spammers get your email address.

Lower Rates and No Hidden Fees: (VillaGlobal members all pay the same rate per area) Most websites usually charge a basic rate (which is usually higher than our full rate) that results in a poor placed advertisement. Once hooked, only extra fees can achieve a better placement. Vacation Rentals .com ranks properties based on a renters preference. We don't sell extra photos, charge higher fees for placement, nor try any tricky or unethical tactics. Site placement is fair and equitable for all.

Company Ethics: (Vacation Rentals .com is owned and operated by renters, not big companies) Don't find out the hard way what happens when your current service replaces property owners with big management companies. Vacation Rentals .com has a strict policy of Property Owners/Sole Property Managers Only. Vacation Rentals .com is often called a Sanctuary for property owners. If your current service is showing signs of big changes, we encourage you to join us now.

Q. What does it cost?
A.
The standard price for a listing on VillaGlobal is $75($US,inc. VAT) per year. However the listings are on sale right now for $149($US) for 12 months (That's just $.41 a day - if you think this is high... click here). We only charge the one fee, there are no hidden charges, no surprises. If you are listing multiple properties, substantial discounts do apply. Contact us with questions about our multiple property discounts.

Q. Can we make changes to basic page set-up?
A. No, our 'templates' are set up the way they are intentionally. We hope to present each property's information in a consistent way for the ease of the vacationer. Description info, rates, headings and photos appear in the same place for everyone, so users can access the info quickly and conveniently.

Q. What's the best way to make changes to a posting?
A. You can make changes at any time. Simply login to the Owner/Manager area and click 'edit listing.'

Q. Some pictures on the web look excellent, while some are not so hot, what's up?
A. There are two main possibilities. Most probable is that the picture was poor to start with (pictures taken on cloudy days, or with bad exposure levels, etc.) Polaroids, xerox copies, houses obscured by trees, shots taken at bad angles, all can look pretty bad on the web. People submit photos from their brochures which, due to the 4-color printing process, result in cross-hatching or moire patterns. In these cases we ask that you take the time to procure a better photograph and resubmit it. Best results come from 3 1/2" x 5" or 4" x 6" 35mm photographs. Sunny days with plenty of blue sky in the background never hurts. We urge owners to constantly rephotograph their rental homes in the hope that they'll get that one killer shot.

On the other hand, the problem could be with us. We have gone through a variety of scanners over the years, with different settings and .jpeg compression schemes. We didn't always get it right, we know that there still exist on our site scans that when opened have a 1/4 inch red/yellow swath through them that shows up in AOL and some versions of Internet Explorer. (Please notify us at once if you see such an aberration.)
If you suspect the fault lies on our side please let us know, we'll attempt to rescan and improve your shot. After all CyberRentals is merely a reflection of its myriad homes!

Q. How quickly can you get a page up and running on the web?
A. Your listing goes live once you have paid and entered the minimum required fields (noted by required). It usually takes 1-2 business days for a new listing to appear on the site.

Q. Why am I not getting calls?
A.
There are several possibilities, some correctable, some not. One main reason is that you didn't supply a picture. We believe homes without photos will receive 1/3rd to 1/10th the calls of the exact same rental which includes a photograph. Similarly a bad picture can have the same effect. A really bad picture could even be worse than none at all. A too basic or terse of a description can also hurt your prospects. Timeshares often do not do well because there's just plain less time for folks to opt to rent. It also might not be the time that folks are looking. The month of May would be quieter than December for those looking for ski chalets, for instance. There is also the possibility that we are just not doing a good job of marketing your area. This is why we always encourage homeowners to give us feedback on their results, it's the only way we have of finding out when marketing efforts should be directed to one spot or another.

Q. Why am I getting plenty of calls but no bookings?
A.
Don't rule out that your rental rate is just too high. Compare with other owners in your area and bedroom size, just as the vacationers do. Put yourself in their shoes and see if you'd rent your spot. Our belief is that if you take any given ten rentals in an area, 3 spots will get 50% of the calls, 6 will split the remaining 50% and someone will get very few. The main determinant? Price.

Q. Do you offer a guarantee?
A.
Yes, if you list your home with us, we guarantee that you will receive paid bookings in excess of 10 times your vacation rentals listing fees during its first year. If you do not receive 10 times your vacation rental listing fees during its first year, we will extend the listing on VacationHomes.com an additional 6 months. This only applies to listings that are entered into the system after November 8th 2002, and does not apply to bulk or discounted listings. Property must be available for at least 4 months out of the year and the listing must display at least one exterior and one interior photograph. The property must also have a minimum rental period of 14 days or less. This offer does not apply to listings that link to other sites.

Q. Do I need a credit card to sign up?
A.
No! you do not need to use a credit card to list your vacation property on VacationHomes.com At the time you create your vacation rental listing, if you would prefer to send payment by other means you can check that option, and then mail your payment to us. You can also call us to handle the billing of your listing. However, property listings will not go live on the site or be distributed to our partner sites until your payment has cleared.

Q. I am already on another site. Why should I list with you, too?
A.
No one web site can possibly reach 100% of your potential clients. All vacation rental listing sites have their unique merits and users, so to get the most exposure for your property, it only makes sense to list on more than one.
